been doing this where I work recently, not really a showcase thing as its already gone to print :D just thought it was worth sticking up anyway...
Its an invite to a glittering diamond jubilee ball. the box was made from sparking grey graphite paper (that represented carbon as thats where diamonds come from) and the diamond inside was made from irridescent white paper to represent a sparkly diamond... the text was in metallic blue ink printed on the inside of the diamond so when it was folded up in the box only parts of text showed through the different facets of the diamond.

Very unique! I like! :D
intersting and different.
Sure would catch my eyes.
The only critism is whether its practical and/or readable.
I quess since, it was printed and it is practical as per the budget.
However, its hard to tell if its readable or not.
I really like the solution though.
Just the prcticality thing seems to be an issue on my mind.
I allways find work that goes beyond the standard production interesting. A "cool" illustration and what not is fine but, something like this is much more intriqing in my eyes.
nice job

yeah it is readable... the cool thing about it is that as the paper is irridescent and the type is a soft metallic it behaves differently in different light and angles... sometimes its soft and subtle and at other angles the type is pin sharp

tz, it's an invitation. You can definitely sacrifice some function for more creativity.
Good work, as usual, dis!

Dis, You are the bomb! Thats awesome creativity. Does each one have to be folded by hand?
by the way, I was at a bookstore the other day, saw "1000 type treaments" remembered that you had talked about it here on the forum. That book is killer! and I bought it.
Dis! That is freakin cool!
We should have a sticky where all the best work is displayed. Kinda like best of the best. I think it would be good to give everyone some inspiration.

Thanks man... yeah everyone was folded by hand, i bet the people in the hand-finishing department of the printers weren't my best friend on that day ;)
