Janet Jackson Album Cover Design

yes its a contest, anyone heard of it? Well, she's coming up to her 20 yrs. of artistic career anniversary and she's letting her fans design her new album cover. Normally I don't bother with contests at all...but I thought it sounded interesting, so I went ahead and tried it.

Honestly Ally? I like your flyers better. I mean, great job and all, but something in this one is just missing? I dunno.

I think its interesting and all just don't see a point to all the decor.

It doesn't really say anything about being 20 years old or achievements.

I would think that in an album titled "20 years" one would want to reflect something to do with that communciation within the design to further reinforce the title- no?

Thats just my opinion though.

I think though compositionally you need to activite the left bottom corner more. Perhaps introduce some of those decortive elments into the bottom left corner to fully unify the design.

all and all though like I said its interesting non the less.

the image is overwhelming the type a little, your design is certainly better than most of the crap that has been posted.

While I agree about the feathering on the boots (maybe its intentional and thats fine) I LOVE this! Its better than the rest that Ive seen. It really emulates what I am sure she would want for this album - "blossoming and looking classy"

Very nice ally. The only small thing is, see the green branch at the bottom? Well could you not make the other end come up from behind her upper right shoulder? Otherwise it looks like she has a tail :) Unless that’s how its suppose to be. I think you have done a good job at communicating she’s 20 years older with that photo, yeah and she’s still having the time of her life (and loaded :rolleyes: ). The last thing you need to do is make anyone appear older.

I think its really good, however, each 'layer' is kinda seperate. It looks like a wall then the flowery bit and the janet. I know your capable of sorting something ally! Oh yeeah, one more tiny thing, i'd put the background parallel with the edge of the design. It slightly rises left to right at the moment. Good job hope you win.
