I can tell you a few things that need to be changed.

First thing is there is way too much going on. Extremely busy. Lose some of the extra text and make it even more transparent. Also, vary the size of the words back there. If they have variety it will stand out. Exaggerate!

Secondly, the fonts are all the same. Mix it up a little. Make it visually appealing. A fancier font or one with a serif will make it stand out from the headline. Or just make the headline and body copy a different font. Try a few things.

Third, separate the body copy from the headline more. Give it some space.

Work with it and try some of these things. Be glad to see what you come up with.

Cheers!

good idea. didnt think about changing the font sizes. i know i needed them being different ...tried opacity. font size is a good idea though. it is busy, kinda made it that way in a theme of "intimidation", maybe went overboard.

thanks for your suggestions. gonna do em.

nice to see someone trying to give 4-H a better look (being a 10 year 4-H'r myself) i agree with sharkfin.. vary the size and transparancy of the text in the background. however there is something seriously irking me about the INTIMIDATING tag being so crushed in the space you have crammed it.

get rid of that light gray stripe space filler to the left, bleed the image.

i LOVE the idea of the microphones closeup, it is a very good way to get an immediate feeling from the ad. however this is not a very strong picture as the mics are oddly cropped really close... did you crop or is that the pic?

i think you could drop the INTIMIDATED down into the white and drop the body text a pt size or 2... and sample the blue of the background for the INTIMIDATED indtead of red... that will help simplify the colors too

great start! keep pushing :D

unfortunaly the mics are the way the pic came. educate me: what does it mean to bleed the image. the intimidated was kinda bothering me too, but i didnt know what about it. let me give that a try. thanks for the suggestions!!

Thing is, he has the opening and closing img tags, and the url inside of it is clickable. Unless he made it a link within a link (like img followed by a href followed by /a followed by img)??? I don't know. I gave up on web a while back.

cmichaud,

Hit the quote button on this post, and it should show you how to format your links so that the image shows in the window. When I looked at one of yours, it looked like you had too many other tags that you didn't need. Also, choose the image shack Direct link to image, not the Show image to friends. That should work.

Reuber, I think he had too much extraneous stuff going on in the first post. When I hit the quote button to reply, there was a lot of other stuff going on.
