See my comment about the acronym. I don't know that you'd want to use that as an acronym, due to the disease connection.

I don't have the disease, I am close to people that do. I would like to help those that want and need help mmmm and make a little money while doing it would be ok.

No, I mean SARS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SARS) is the disease that was killing people (not substance abuse), a year or so ago.

On the cover.... I like the photo. It really says support, foundation, being in good, trusting hands and everything else that goes along with substance abuse recovery support. It pretty much ends at the photo. The type treatment does not say this. The photo is really traditional in its color scheme and very organic with the wood and the vines, etc. Then the type is a gradient and the rest is twisting and turning. A cool effect under some circumstances, but not this one. I think in order to keep this project from looking like other substance abuse recovery rainbow looking stuff, you need to have the type say what the photo says. I think you want it to say solid, good natured, real, trustworthy support from this recovery system. Personally, I would make the SARS (if you must use that) something of a logo-type. I would do it in a sans-serif font and put it in one of those corners or something - there's your solid type to go with the picture. Not in the hand, it's competing with the bird. I would then, in a lighter, more ornate than the sans-serif, put the words Substance Abuse Recovery Support.
I hope that didn't sound mean. I really think this project could be a big success for you if you just push it a little bit in the right direction!!

Cornfed, In reading your comments again...I am wondering if you are saying... to reduce the image to put the text in the corner ofr the cd cover it's self ? or are you takling about for the cd case insert? Because the reason I wraped the text like I dis was so that the text would all fit on the cd with the hole being in the center of the hand. I didn't know if you caught that this goes right on the cd? I like what you are saying. It makes sence.

Oh My, Urstwile, Good Thinking! I see what you mean.
Probably not a good acronym. Well I started out with SASS Substance Abuse Support System. The more I looked at that, the more it sounded like I was supporting substance abuse. Back to the thinking board. At least I have the image going for me.
Thanks Again

Didn't catch that this was the cd itself. Is this design going to serve as the cover also?
Since this is the cd, there are a few questions that I have. How are you getting this printed? Assuming this is an economically minded project, which I find most cd projects are unless they're on a major label, then your design may not work like it is. Generally, cd's are printed in spot colors. Most are two colors on a white background (a white background is referred to as a "white flood" and you should specify before sending to print, lest you end up with a silver background when that's not what you designed for!). You have a bunch of colors in there and I'm not sure you'll be able to do this without a big expense. Have you looked at it with the circle inserted so that you can see what it will look like? Most cd printers are really happy if you work off of their templates which have all of the holes in the right spot, etc. I just don't think this is the best design decision for this piece. It may mean dropping down the size of the photo or cropping it out differently or adding some blocks of color, etc. I think the photo is great for what you are doing. For the cd, I would either make they type in a circle shape or a straight line across. I think the awkward shape the letters are following is going to compete with the circles and the mirror part that doesn't get white under it, etc. It's really too much going on as it is with the type over the hand, etc. then the circle negative space is going to only add to that.
Here's a link to a cd that I designed. It's a grayscale photo brought into quark and given a greenish spot color background. The design is based on the cover design. I always design the cover first and then base the cd on that.

That's my 2 cents!
