Tropical Storm Chris looks a little too much like Katrina for my taste. I put bets that it gets to be a big one. Katrina reached Category 1 just before reaching Florida. That suckers gonna get in the warm gulf waters and grow like a weed. I wonder where it's gonna go. It's so damn hot here (I'm about 1 hour from the gulf). I bet it reaches at least a category 3.

Yeah, I mowed the yard this morning and weeded the garden. I thought I was gonna pass out it was so hot. It's 98 here right now, but it feels much worse cause of the humidity. I love to watch hurricanes form and guess what they're gonna do. We evacuated for Rita last year and the damn house we evacuated to had a tree fall on it! We drove home during the hurricane. Scariest ride I ever experienced!
We'll have a better idea by Monday what this ones gonna do.

Here's hoping it dissipates or shifts away from you .

Yeah, be careful. Weather has been nuts, especially w/ hurricane season the past few years.

I totally expect that we'll get one here. Evacuation is such an expensive pain in the butt.
Here's a pic my 3 year old took today of me after I did my yard work. I am not this red of a person! I was so hot but damn my yard looks good now- well, the front anyway. Not the greatest picture either, but it gets my point across!!

Drink lots of water! This heat is something else. We finally got a break from it today after a week & a half of blistering days.
Hope the storms pass by. Scary stuff.

All I drink is water - okay and coffee! I have consumed so much water today its not even funny. I can take the heat, but the humidity is a killer. You walk outside and it feels like you're swimming in the air. There is actual resistance! I'm sure my electricity bill is gonna be through the roof this month. I don't even care, just keep me cool.

Be grateful for the humidity, it makes it easier to breathe. We are just coming out of "winter"- the coldest it gets is 10 degrees at night. Here, day time cold is 15 degrees. 98 is the Sahara or Kalahari deserts - without the humidity of course.

^^^ Are you serious? That doesn't sound at all that bad. Winter here is like -20. And we still get the 98...w/ humidity. In this heat, it doens't make it easier to breathe. It is much cooler today though, w00t.
