Does anyone else find the image of a kid with his head blown off by a rocket...um...disturbing? I know it's meant to depict inspiration, but when I first saw it I immediately went, "WTF?"

Yea, um... Not visually communicating very well. I think the person was trying to do a play of those I think Propel commercials where the person is climbing a strawberry then it moves to reveal a mountain. It also creates a very harsh line in the middle of the page and makes it hard for me to see anything else... all in all I agree with your WTF!

Oh and welcome to the forum!

I think if it were just a picture it would be pretty cool... but It does look a little creepy.

YA that is really wierd... the look on the kids face makes it even creepier, like I can blast crap out of my noggin and I am a-ok with it. I think the smoke should come out of his ears too.

AHHH! creepy. It reminds me of a bad version the department store Target ads. Theirs are done really well, though. Check out their "design for all commercial"

heres an example:

Yeah, I saw that and wondered if anyone else thought it was creepy too. It reminded me of the space shuttle disasters.

you know if a mind is such a terrible thing to waste, why are they blowing that kid's up?

Dubya saw that picture and is investigating this as a way to infiltrate Al Queda with "children of mass destruction".

I would have ventured more into the many wonderous things that can come from an INTACT head, myself...

this is boring, we've all seen someone slice something and match up the edeges... and like jacki said, why blow his head off if the mind is ' a terrible thing to waste' :D

Could possibly work if they played on the idea of a young space engineer or something? Not just a random kid with a rocket on his head.

Apparently this is a series. Did anyone see the borg-head kid yet? So sad, his head has gears in it! I couldn't seem to save it to my machine to post, but the whole series plays on the right hand side of cnn.com

I find this to be horribly wrong-messaged. Thats what happens when you are a non-profit.

i dont know why people don't like the concept, its a rocket, not an ICBM. I think the idea is that there are so many undiscovered potential rocket scientists out there. Just the execution of the concept was pretty poor.

i agree with cjoe. i think the concept is fantastic! im surprised so many of you dislike it. the layout and overall execution, however, could be a lot better.

I remember seeing this picture design on their ads some 5 years ago. It's just awkward, but I like how the smoke curling looks like brains!

I like the concept of the kid having the undiscovered potential... but it stops there, why not try and comminucate the fact that he has UNDISCOVERED potential... like for example, show him doing something in his 'street gang life' that could be put to better use as a rocket scientist... or ANY job for that matter. Having a rocket in his head almost makes it seem that he IS dreaming of being a rocket scientist, and that he aspires to be and that he will be successful. Is the purpose not to make people feel sorry that without their help, this child wont be able to realize his own dream and reach his ful potential???

Its just too cut and dry, unrelated for me.
