I sent my resume for this position that sounded perfect. Exactly the areas that I've working in for the past 6 years. My job now is a 40 minute drive every morning, this one would have been 15. Pay was awesome with a $1500 signing bonus. So, sent resume, called a couple days later to make sure they received it. They did receive it and I talked to the president of the company (it's a small family run company) who says he'd just sent me an e-mail with some questions. I answer his question over the phone and I have knowledge in all of the areas he has questions about. Phone call went well. He tells me he'd like to set up an interview and that I should look at my calendar and get back to him. So, I send him an e-mail (at his request) regarding times I would be available. He e-mails me back and says "a bunch of stuff came up" and that he'd call me this week. I just now got an e-mail saying that the position has been filled! I sent my resume the day the job was posted. Was called back two days after that and a week later, after being asked for an interview, they tell me the position is filled??? Once again I learn the lesson that if something seems too good to be true...it is! ARGH!

Crappity crap crap jena! Keep plugging away, wasn't meant to be. Maybe keep in touch with that president just in case the new person doesn't work out. Sounds like they may have hired internally.

Yeah like hiring an HR person who has no skills or education in GD to do the design work? :p

Thanks Balou. I'm not sure what happened, but it was strange and honestly after the way they handled things, I'm not sure I'd want to work for them. I e-mailed them back and said that I was sorry that they filled the position without going forward with the interview they had requested and he replied saying that after reviewing my resume that I was not the right fit for the job and that he received 40 resumes and had to determine who to interview. I have experience in every area that they had talked to me about so I'm not sure how he determined that I wasn't the right fit, but oh well. What can ya do.
