Hi,

I created in illustrator two A4 pages and saved them as adobe pdf.

I then put them together in photoshop. However, how can I get them to be two pages in a pdf viewer as they currently come up as one long page?

Do you have InDesign or Quark? Why are you placing vector art into Photoshop?

I don't have either InDesign or Quark :(

No reason for putting it into photoshop, just put it together that way.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Professionsl (not just reader) there are a lot of advanced editing tools you can use to do that. I dont think people utilize pdfs as much as they can... Acrobat Pro rocks.

By taking the Illy file (pdf) into PSD,you've rasterized (made into dots) all the vector art (clean lines and curves and type). If it's for your own use, go ahead. If you plan on printing or publishing, your work will be blurry. Generally not a good practice.

I know, it's for online viewing

i just want to know if it's possible to make it into two pages for a pdf viewer?

When you make a pdf of a Illy file, it's not going to seperate into pages, it's going to make one file. However, with all the upgrades going on, maybe there is a way. But why make a pdf and place into photoshop when you can save illy as a eps and pop it into PS? Keep in mind, when you do this it will raster your vector art, it'll make it pixel not sharp and clean.

You could break your Illy file down into 2 files. Then bring each seperately into PS. Or make 2 pdfs. With 2 pdfs you can open the first pdf and use "add pages" feature.

I have another question also :P

Because I needed the file to be under 500kb, and when I did it (altogether as one doc) in illustrator and saved as one pdf it was over 1mb, would there have been a way to reduce this size in illustrator?

Yes, in Acrobat Pro. Just tell your friend who has the app and explain what you need done.

There are a few freebie PDF creators that might work.

Here's one: http://www.photo-freeware.net/pdf-redirect.php

Supposedly, you can 'append pages' in the creation list by adding additional files.

another option, if you must take this to Photoshop is that in Illustrator
you can go to Export under File and then Export it as a .psd ;)

I know that but it doesn't split the document for the pdf that way
