Hi, Everyone,

I'm redesigning a site (after some heavy criticism from the talented folks that frequent this forum) for a personal trainer for women. A lot of the feedback I received was critical of my choice of a pink-centered color scheme. Does anyone have any ideas about where I should start building a new, more contemporary one? What colors are associated with fitness?

Thanks for your help.

I personally love pink, but it might depend on what pink you choose. (Nursery room pink or retro pink? Rose or salmon? There are all kinds of hip pinks out there, some more gender-neutral/not cliche than others. It also depends on what you combine with the pink.

I would probably go for a muted color scheme - this site has some great ideas http://www.colorschemer.com/schemes/

I concur with EC. Even though I'm male, a good pink (is there such a thing?) can go a long way.

Give us more specifics.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with both of these two. Pink is sweet if used right.

if you want to see some colors that are associated with fitness, i would go to environments that involve fitness. Gyms, yoga classes, aerobics spaces. I go to the gym on my own time, and colors i see most often, are bright oranges, pinks, grey tones, neutral colors, sometimes dark reds or blacks, and yellows. Those colors dont seem like good matches all together, but if put in the right combination could be great. Colors are probably the most difficult choice next to settling on an original idea.

Uncle Cheese,

If I'm recalling your original site post correctly, it used a fair amount of pale pink. If you want to go with pink, maybe go with more vibrant pinks instead. The pink you chose wasn't energetic and I think that's why I reacted to it the way I did, as it felt somewhat stereotypical.

And try maybe using some interesting alternate colors along with the pink to give it more dynamism. Maybe some of the links posted in this thread will help you with that.

I'd love to see what you come up with in terms of a revised pallette. :)
