Hi, a friend of mine gave me a collection of newspaper articles and pictures from magazines and the web that he has saved from his college ulum. basketball team. So I made him a big poster/collage. and I guess it has got around a little at the school, now the book store would like to purchase 100 prints... could I get into any trouble if I sold them the prints? that's something I don't need.

Depends on the source material, but more than likely you could (get in trouble, that is). Best be safe, I wouldn't do it.

The newspapers the clippings came from and the photographers could sue your pants off. You can track down all the copyright holders and get their written permission.
It could be worth it if you get paid enough.

you could i'm afraid, any images will be copyrighted by the periodicals that you have used, or the college even.

you would have to contact each periodical and tell them of your intentions. some may be ok but others may ask for a fee, or even not allow you to use the image at all.
