As a graphic design newbie, I am perplexed with the problem of designing a graphic of a three-word acronym, of uneven length. For example, consider the imaginary acronym Astonishingly Big Chrysanthemums. It is important to highlight the acronym, ABC, but if I lay them one under the other, like so:

Astonishingly
Big
Chrysanthemums

with a strong vertical highlighting the acronym letters, the design comes out awful -- two big words, separated by a tiny word.

If I change the font of the word Big, to make its length bigger and come closer to the lengths of the other two words, then the acronym is ruined -- two small characters, separated by a huge one.:(

What do you recommend for this? Thanks.

You know, some people call me insane, but when I'm in a room with a tiled wall, floor, ceiling of some sort, I try to "grid out" letters into it to make them fit evenly against each other to form a nice grid. Alleviates the boredom, and a nice little brain exercise. In this case, maybe the first and second words can fit on one line, and maybe the third word can be on it's own line?

Or you might be able to do a DENNISMILLERSHOW, like below

DENN
ISMI
LLER
SHOW

I remember the old logo for his HBO show did that. If the words are huge, that may not work to well.

Like so:

AstonishinglyBig
Chrysanthemums

maybe? Yeah, that kinda works. I had really hoped, though, that I could figure out a way to line up A B C underneath each other, maybe in a frame, and add the words next to them. It would make for a strong effect. Works well with similar-sized words, but here, it doesn't

BTW, what you are doing, with grids, is no different than doodling -- the designer's time-honored tradition. If you're insane, we're all insane.:D

Let's also hear any other ideas.
