Hi Everyone,
I have been asked to jazz up this logo for a Community Woodland organisation... This is what I started with...

and here's my final idea...

It was originally based on this map...

...and I kinda had to stick to this idea the guy had, but I have tried to tidy it up a bit and make it look better - what do you's think?
Criticism welcome!
I love your map as you icon idea. Very cool and original for a logo.
I think the font is not working with the design. You might want to try a diffrent layout for the font. But don't touch the map it looks great!
Welcome to the GDF!

'Anger...fear...aggression. The dark side of the Force are they.'

I agree with benjo... Stick with the map Idea and see what you can do with the font. The combination of the font and the leading is making it a bit hard to read. Try a different font (maby garamond or something) and maby make it only half as tall. Now to me they look like two different elements that are fighting eachother.
I love how you solved the map problem. Now just try to make the font flow with the logo a bit more.
Just my 2¢
Nice work... and welcome

This text layout is much easier to read and follow, this font is also better suited for the subject i think. Nice job. One thing to watch out for is mixing to many colors into your design, just for printing purposes.

Great Job impoving the logo.
I would just watch the colors on the font they appear to be mixed as vzero metioned. But it looks great!

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your feedback - it's helped me a lot and I think you were right about chaning that font - this one suits it more.
I sent it to the client, and unfortunatly he preferred the first idea I did (before I did those changes) - shows how much client's know eh?! A colleague of mine also thought that the last one was better than the first.
The mixed colours in the text was because the client wanted it like that - so that it would stand out as the DCWT?!
Oh well...
Dam Clients what do they think there paying for the work or something. LOL!
Yea or you can do what I do I throw 3-4 diffrent concepts at them and let them build off of that. But hey they are paying so you gotta do what they say.
