yeah, 'cuz if you died while still working at that job, who'd design your headstone? geez, it'd probably be in comic sans or something retarded like that. on a piece of foamcore too, no expense spared.
if you're gonna die from design stress, make it from falling off the top of the mountain whilst in the final stages of carving out your own 'mt. rushmore', only it says 'silence04 is boss' in your own font. kinda' like the dude who died while doing 'spiral getty'.
dickweed bosses aren't worth the amount of energy you've just spent ranting in this post.

I have been considering a new line of work as well. I'm getting sick of GD and making other people money. I feel for you silence.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, its really helped today.
i've cooled down some...
yesterday at 5pm they smacked 3 new ads in our face that were due today by 12pm (one of the ads is for an entire product line that hasn't even been sent to the printer yet, and needs a full working website by the time the ad hits the streets)... so i had to stay around 8pm and worked on them, eventhough i had prior plans last night. i come in this morning and dont even get a thanks. (they pull this sh!t every month)
so i talk to my boss about starting to give them rush charges so they will get penlized doing this sh!t to us... and he pretty much shrugs it off like its nothing...

Did you get paid for the overtime? If not, why did you stay? Are you worried they will fire you if you don't agree to stay late - unpaid - and when you already have other plans? What would have happened if you didn't stay? Perhaps your boss needs to see how dependent he is on you and your good nature. DON'T stay late without at least 24 hours warning - and then only if you get overtime pay or time off in lieu.
Unbelievable. Definitely time to move on.

Joining GAG and actually getting it to work for you is two different things. I wouldn't hire you just because you were GAG. In fact, it might work against you. I'm also not quite sure what you get for 5% of your paycheck that you send to them... Even their offer of benifits sucks balls.
If you are hourly, you should get overtime or comp time (leave early on Friday for instance).
If you don't have an overtime policy, then you can try to say no until they show you the money.
We can only say no so many times. Right now we are on double shifts (over 14 hours). Don't like it, leave. But it's what we do for a living here. Show must go on!

I feel for you, Silence. I started at our printing company in customer service, and actually had to take a *pay cut* to go into design.
They told me that I was "overqualified" (which I spell s-c-r-e-w-e-d).
Regardless, at that point a friend of minesent me this poem - seems a good time topass it on.
Last night as I lay sleeping, I died, or so it seemed.
And then I went to heaven, but only in my dream.
Up there St. Peter met me standing at the pearly gate.
He said “I'll check your record, please stand here and please wait.”
“I see that you drank alcohol and smoked a smoke or two.
Fact is that you’ve done everythinggood peoplenever do!”
“We can’t have folks like you up here! Your life was full of sin.”
Then he read the last line, took my hand, and said “Come in.”
He led me to the Boss and said “Take him in and treat him well.
He used to work in Printing… He’s done his time in Hell!”
woahhh!! dude i've been there it's just your environment trust me...
i used to think i was going to feel like that everywhere - its' hard to find a place
where it's about the work... not ego's and 80's ideals.. he heee my boss used to be the same - anyways - there are good places out there...!
relax!
