Hi,
I recently received two projects where I will need some OCR oftware to use with my HP 4670 scanner. The scanner came with IRISread, but the version is so old that a PDF users manual is no longer available and I cannot even figure out how to scan a document or move something into the program window.
I am looking at OMNI Page and OMNI Page PRO. I do not feel I need the PRO.
My specific application will be to get editable text in either a TXT or a DOC (MS Word) file and reformat it, probably using Adobe InDesign. The last time I used someone's OCR text, I ran into problems as it waspre-formatted and I had much difficulty getting it to retain the new styles I assigned.
Would anyone be able to share their experience of using an OCR program with a 4670 scanner, or just tell me about how they feel about the OCR program they use?
Will appreciate your thoughts.
