What do you guys think of this logo? Just logo not colors (still working on colors).
This is for a company that sells death care related books and information to the funeral industry.

I love the logo, very nice.
I'm not to shore if it fits the theme but it's defiently nice. It's says more of an organic, natural or even high end landscaping to me.

I think it has a somber feel to it.
What about putting a grain effect on the area surrounding the text to make it look like granite or a plaque?
I like it, but I think your right that the colours need some work. What about looking at the pantone colours roughly from 400-440 solid uncoated.
Match in the gas tank, boom boom.

I like it a lot. Couple of comments:
• The R in resources looks too close to the edge - it is closer than the S?
• The white outline around the middle tree - what if it became a stroke around the inner green box? It would integrate the tree and emblem nicely.
• Can you add the drop shadow to the white areas inside the tree (just the two near the trunk)? It would really pop.
• Are the white brush stokes in the tree necessary?
• I think I might want to play with the kerning of the N and A in NATURAL. If I really squint, the spacing seems a bit wide.

dude. is there really an industry called death care? You should make the trees into tombstones. lol, that'd rule.
Just kidding. I think it's nice and I don't like the colors. Which is good because you're still working on them. Maybe a hunter green and a cream/neutral color?

I agree with Holliday. I think the logo is nice, but I'm not feelin' the color.

Thanks all, Ya the color is crap I haven't even thought about colors yet, just picked some out of the air to see the contrast.
Good suggestions Flashlight, I will def look into some of those. This is the first draft for this logo and I am only getting like $50 for it (friend work crap) so I have only put a total of 20 min into it so far. So I need to revise some things but the person it is for loves it so far so I will go with it...
I will post the next version soon!

I agree, it's nice, but the colors aren't. Doesn't seem to fit with death though. Trees suggest the opposite to me.

If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

Well... the dead do end up as tree food, don't they?http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/happy.gif
Love the logo.http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/thumbsup.gif Only thing I noticed is that if you're gonna keep the drop shadow on the middle tree, there has to be shadow seen behind the branches in the middle too. And I like EN's suggestion about the granite look.
Wanna see updates!

very very nice!
i like the colors, but what if you tried this Mickey:
'reverse-out' the colors of the Type with the box that its in... you know, make the letters that lighter green and make the shape that the letters are inside the darker green, but keep the lighter green as an outline around the shape (so it doesn't pancake up the middle tree)
