I am beginning to start freelancing doing web design. I have a few potential clients lined up and they are asking what my rates are.
The question is..what should I tell them my rates are? What are some common rates for freelance web designers?
Thanks!

Pricing is something we cannot discuss here. However, this article might help you a ton...

No biggie. Kind of suprised me too when I first heard it, but generally speaking the information in that link tends to answer most of the questions. Keep this in mind: don't undervalue yourself. There's a reason why people want to hire you.

your pricing will also be based on your experience and your location.
the sitepoint forums discuss pricing if you want to take a walk over there.

You can always start higher and work your way down if need be.
