Hi! I'm looking for a web site hoster, for a new domain name, it should be easy to design, not to limited, look professional and of course affordable.
thanks,

Hi! I guess all web designers vacationed on Labor Day!
So I will try again, any suggestion or referral?

I used godaddy for hosting, and they have website building tools, but I've never used them, so I can't say how good or bad they are.

I've had great experiences with sultanhost.com.

99.9% guaranteed server up-time and great pricing for full functionality (cgi, emails, php, mqsql, cpanel, etc).

Do they have easy design tools, and not so limited options as others?

godaddy are quite cheap, by my scale.

I have used Startlogic.com. They were very inexpensive, and thier phone support was accually very good. The phone support was not outsourced, so I was able to talk with someone there at Startlogic.

Mediatemple is another one that seems popular, but I think they are a little more expensive.

godaddy are cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have had horrid experiences with them and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - but everyone will always have different experiences.

DOn't we have a thread like this every couple of months. It ends up with people filling it with their host who the love. Amazing the brand loyalty that host cmpanies can achieb=ve.

My advice would be - don't go for the cheapest option - you get what you pay for.
Go with a host that has been in business for a while and has a good rep. Yahoo might be good for you - I know they have a site builder. No idea if it's any good as I've never used anything like that

Yeah I use Yahoo and have never had a problem and the customer service was great the one time I needed it so far. The web building tools worked good also, since I am useless when it comes to code.

I've been with 1and1.com for a couple years now. The pricing is fair and I've never had any problems with them. Plus they have all sorts of tools, including stock images, website builder, blog, easy to set up forms (no coding required), and more. They even through in some software when you sign up (depending on the package).

I've gone through yahoo before I switched to 1and1, this was a couple of years ago but I really didn't like yahoo too much. 1and1 was a better price, and had more features.

I found godaddy to have good phone support, 24/7. Their techs actually knew what they were on about in my experience, and always resolved the problem with one phone call, but then my site isn't very complex or large, to host.

I've got bluehost.com with the free domain name, No problems, and it's easy to use. It was the best price I could find that was reliable. Probably still is too!
No affiliation BTW.

I'm with 1host.com. All I can say is I've got c-panel and I'm happy.

cpanel is a great feature, something to definitely look for when comparing plans.

I'm with jethost.net.nz but only because they are a New Zealand company which is important to me. You will find their prices pretty competitive once you convert to US. They use c-panel too. Their hosting costs about the same as a domain name.

I think it is important to pick a host from your own country, otherwise your Google rankings are likely to slip!

I 2nd the vote for 1and1.com. Their customer service is available by phone 8am-8pm Mon-Fri and have really good pricing.

It depends on your needs. I have a portfolio site that is on my free webspace provided by my ISP. I buy a URL through GoDaddy.com and forward it to my comcast.net site... works great for me.

I've used Pipe 10 (http://www.pipeten.com/windows_and_linux_hosting.html) for about 4 years now and am really happy with their services. I've not been able to say that about any of the other web hosts I used previously!
