i've been on a few other forums and they have kinda long running collaborative projects on the go... like eatpoo and their tarot cards (tarot project) (http://tarot.eatpoo.com/)

...well after reading the linotype thread in news, i reckon we should all work together to make a monopoly board! What do you think?

You choose the name of the place (like 'Helvetica Gardens' - cheers Balou) and the design for the block (so it won't look like the normal board with the flat two colour squares) and then gradually we piece together a whole design orientated monopoly board...

Post up the images here and note which square from the real board it is replacing... I'll collate and stick them together and eventually we'll have our own GDF-opoly!!?!?!?! What do you think? You could even design some new playing pieces (to replace the iron and top hat etc)

c'mon guys lets do it, it'll be fun! :D

i reckon the design of each 'street' should be at a ratio of 1 unit wide by 2 units tall... and obviously each corner square being 2 by 2...

Sizes are 1 to 2. The final image can be scaled down in the long run, as long as it maintains the same ratio it should be fine. The corner spots are 1:1 ratio (square, in other words).

BUT if you want to do the square ones, I can build a quick template in (i have a simple one made already) cad and I can make it as an .AI file, or what ever.

The squared one I made was the 4 big corners where 2x2, and the ones between where 1x2's (I'll just scale it up 50%)

Edit: all done in cad (scaled up 50%) just need to know what everyone wants done with it? I'll break them down to 3 files, cornerspace, middlespace, and overall board. I sugest we do these in illustrator? so when someone is done, with the right dimensions, and vectorized, they can be pooled easily, placed together. for a final (via anchor points).
