Nobody likes rehashing the terrible acts that occurred 5 years ago Monday. If you should see anything at all, you need to watch "9/11", CBS Sunday night. It's not a news show, not a drama, no actors. I watched this show the first time it was on, just 6 months after the attacks.
"9/11" was a planned documentary by 2 French brothers Gedeon and Jules Naudet. Their intent was to go along with and live with a Manhattan fire company for 3 or 4 months and follow a new recruit through the early stages of a fireman's career. From the day the rookie was hired, the 2 Frenchmen went out on calls, ate with and slept with the company. For over 3 months, there was hardly a call. The film crew was about ready to pack it when the morning of 9/11 rolled around.
It was commercial free in 2002 and will be also Sunday night, September 10. Forget the docu-dramas and re-cast of the news from that day. This is well worth recording. And it is real.
