Hello!

I have been laying out an annual report for a client who, after seeing the initial proof, would like the table numbers (right aligned) to line up. My problem is, there are also many numbers in brackets and the bracket lines up with the number above/below it in the table instead of the number inside the bracket (I want the bracket to be pushed even further right so the number inside of the bracket is aligning with the other numbers).

I have seen some reports that do this and others that don't bother. Any idea on the technique that will allow me to do this (and what it's called)? I can't for the life of me figure it out!

appreciate any help!

what program are you using? - InDesign?

I would set up a new column just for the brackets - these can then be set out separately from the numbers. You can then change the line properties for the three coloumns (bracket - number - bracket) to make it look as though they are all part of the same cell or column.

Yes, using inDesign. Seems like a long (and slightly dodgy) way to do this.

Thanks for the help!
