My New logo

Ok, I did this in illustrator, please give me your opinions on this image. This will be for the macmod site. I posted another thread on this, and I am loosing the other logos. This is going to be the main logo now. Give me your thoughs on this. I think that it looks good, but it needs something. It just isn't fitting well with text. Any tips that you can offer are much appreciated.

I would tone that hard generic blue down a bit to a lighter blue.....the dark blue is okay, but that main bright blue is a bit much for me...but the illustration looks nice ^ ^ ( i dont really see a logo like that representing a mac mod site, but mabye thats just me )

^^ I agree with him on the blue. ^^ And maybe it's just me too ;) but the illustration does not come across as an icon or a symbol to me. If I were to use a single graphic to represent the company (like how a simple swoosh represents Nike) I'd make it look more iconic and less photo-real. More a hint of the object than a picture of the actual object. Probably just a preference. Nice illustration work, though.

I agree that it needs toning down. That is the first thing that I noticed after I posted the image on the forum. I will definitely be doing this. I also agree that it would look better if it were less photo-realistic, which is a shame, b.c I spent way too much time making the detail of this image.

haha welcome to my world....I spend 24hour days in Max and Photoshop trying to make an image that dosnt even get looked at.....And there are lots of things that can rep a mac mod site, u just gotta be creative....mabye make the word 'mac' and then next to it in a bolder / or thinner font have 'mod' turned upsidedown....tons of stuff u can do

i liked the other versions better, to be honest. i think they branded you a bit better. i would have played around more with those ones.

but nice skills. i can't do that 3d poohyness...it drives me crazy. i think i got as far as screaming at cad, growling at max, wincing at maya and animating a few things in swift 3d before i said NO MORE. now i just know people that have skills.
