What's your opinion on this digital illustration?

i really need your honest opinion on this, so be as harsh as possible!
i was trying to create a background to go with my companies website (thats posted in the web design section on this forum), but the direction i went with this isn't really like the site anymore, so i changed the colors and turned it into a illustration, to maybe put in our portfolio section.

One major thing I would like to see it the 'light beam' doing someting instead of going past, maybe hitting the interface and warping it or interacting with it more just to add more of a dynamic quality to it.
