I'm writing up my very first proposal for a freelance gig I'm going for. They need a identity and a website.
Should a proposal be seprate from the contract, or should it all go together?
What excatly should go in a proposal? I want to make sure I don't leave anything out.
This is my first one, so any advice or suggestions would be great.:)
Thanks,
Loopy

Scope of work, time lines & price - keep it simple. It should be seperate from the contract.
We used to produce about a 16 page proposal for web sites and found that it was pretty much a waste. Prospects won't read most of what you give them anyway and you'll just have to answer it again ;)

Proposal first, then contract. Things change between the two.

Show them the proposal and if they decide to go with you then give them a contract. Not together.

Welll... on some things we do the proposal as a contract. We send it and if they agree to it, they sign it. Then we sign it. It can save time. But this kind of thing is not for bid situations. Then the proposal always goes first.
