hello... once again i'm struggling a little... please can you let me know your thoughts on the below logo? Its for an events organisers who sort out corporate and private events/functions... the design is probably way too obvious and literal but I'm a bit stuck creatively...

anyway..

I like the thin/thick lettering.
I don't think the eye part is necessary, also you could try Grey instead of Black like so...

I like it a couple of comments though fir me the 1st works better than the second with the eye. The second eye sort of clashes with the is before it.

I prefer the pale blue "pure" to the black it seems a contradiction in terms. What about a blue eye?
How does it work without the halo is that too mcuh with the eye.

yeah, sorry the top one was just the mono version and the second was an example of colour. perhaps the eye in the second is a little over done... i'm kinda happyish on the first... it's readable and striking but dunno how original it is... need some more ideas now..

I only like the first black one.

The second one with the eye is like a bad version of Virgin Galactic's eye.

I think the first one, but with a bit of contrast. Maybe with a bit of blue from the second one...

top one looks best, only thing I would say is it bothers me how high the halo is. Maybe try to align it with the top of the dots for the "i"s. I dont know if that would look cramped or not, though. or make it go over all of "pure"? that might look dumb... Im really lovin the O made into an eye though! awesome concept

I like the top one - but the "halo" over the "p" seems unnecessary. It clutters up the image. I do like the suggestion of making the "eye" in the top design blue.

My opinion: Drop the halo from the top one, keep the eye from the top one, but change the color as Andi suggested.

My first thought before reading your backstory was that it was for an optometrist or contact lenses.

Ditto Eraser, I thought it was for a laser eye surgery type clinic.

yeah, i was aware of it giving that impression but I'm having a total creative block on implying 'mental' vision rather than optical.... I'll keep sketching...

oops. I liked the top one and the think the eye coloring is a bit too much and might like a more solid color for the eye. However, I too thought it was for an optometrist.

what if you removed the halo and made the "o" or "eye" blue and the center black like a pupil?

I'd drop the halo myself.

Yeah, drop the halo, it's unnecessary. I love the eye though. And it's very clear to read. Good job.

me too.

I like all the elements (top one), I think its a good job as far as a good logo concept. Wether it was in color or not didn't matter, I looked at it and thought that it could EASILY translate into color.....but it misdirects you immediatly to thinking that its some kind of optometrist store . As said already, the halo doesn't do anything for it...maybe keep PURE the way it is minus halo play with the word VISION getting rid of the eye thing all together but maybe seriously distort the word VISION. Warp.distort, make the veritical and horizontal go wacky (like a bad TV reception)..make VISION a visual effect. Just suggestions of course....but right now....its screams eye care store.

EDIT: wow all the posts slipped in fast before i responded.lol

I would try losing the halo and then making the negative space in the "O" into the eyeball almond shape...

It would be subtle, yet more memorable.

it was for an optometrist or contact lenses.

Well - the name is Pure Vision. You're going to make that association no matter what the mark is.

Now that I'm thinking a bit more, why don't you pursue a different angle like events - catering, music, social gatherings, quality, high class etc.

I mean your design is great for "pure vision" but it doesn't say anything about events. Mind you, a lot of great brands identity have nothing to do with their product. Just something you probably have thought about...
