Does anyone know how to create a document with a pocket fold in the inside, Im tring to create a document with one fold, with the right side having a pocket for an insert, Im tring to do this in Illustrator, is this only something that has to be setup with with the printer or am i supposed to setup the doc with an extention on the bottom of the right side to be folded up to create a pocket, i hope this makes sense, this is my first time posting so im sorry if this question has been asked before, thanks

your first step should be to talk to your printer and see how THEY need it to be set up. printers are often just like real people, so you should ask. there are a few printy-types lurking around, so maybe they can give you a definative answer, but i would always go straight to the source.

luck!

NattieMon, welcome to the forum. If this is a standard piece like a kit cover/presentation folder then your printer should already have a template. Then you should only have to submitt the various parts that need to be printed. If it's a completely custom item then you will have to privide all the flaps, etc for the die cut. At any rate talking to your printer is the first step. If all else fails get back to the nuts and bolts of the problem and make a mock up out of paper. Then lay it out flat and get your measurements from it. /emoticons/cool.gif

And although calling the printer is the best bet, I would take a peice of paper and fold it up come up with some combinations on how this would fold. It will help you out when your making a custom job as Kool metioned. But always call the printer first.

Oh and welcome to the GDF!
