AI to fireworks8

I have a questions. I am producing a graphic in AI. A button for the website. i build it at 175px by 50px. I then export it as a jpeg. I am exporting it in high quality...which is maybe the problem....but when i open the image in fireworks...its not retaining it pixel dimensions....meaning i have to resize it...which isnt really a problem except that when i resize it it distorts some of the colors...not changing the color persay, but more antialiasing portions of it. Any suggestions. should i just be exporting at low quality from ai.

p.s. i just tried exporting at 72 dpi and i get the same problem. fireworks doesnt keep the pixel size

i think i found the problem. it being my transparency flattening presets.

does this sound right?
