Hello, I'm new to this forum and wanted to know if anyone could lend a little insight as to the EyeOne Publish software bundle from GretagMacbeth. My print shop finally invested in said software (which comes with a spectrophotometer). We are using an Epson 2200 for which we would ultimately like to use as our proofing device. Our press is a 4-color Heidelberg GTO-VP(non-digital).
With the sofware and hardware from EyeOne Publish, we plan to create an ICC profile based on what our press is capable of printing. What I'm planning to do is output the calibration charts to film, set them up (most likely in Quark) with colorbars, and just have the press operator hit the numbers on the color bars. From there, I would then use the spectrophotometer to measure the charts and create an ICC profile. From there, do I just tag every file in photoshop with that same profile? I just want to know if anyone else has been down this road and, if so, what I can expect from this software.
Thanks.
