I need to know if there is an easier way to scale effects in photoshop other than: Control + Click > Scale Effect > XXX%
I had to enlarge something and now I have quite a few layers I have to do this for and it's a real pain.
Thanks for any info you can provide me with.

Damn... no reply! I was afraid this was the best way to do it, because it sucks!

You got me Satch. I don't know.
I bet when you saw a reply to this thread you got your hopes up. Then again, maybe you saw that I replied and realized that I probably would have nothing valuable to say. :/

Can you make it an action Satch? Is it a consistent resize?

Thanks guys, at least I dont feel like I am being ignored anymore ;)

shoot, isn't there a way to link all the layers and apply the same schmengie to all of them? I don't use PS nearly as much as I should, so I am not really able to help much. :(

There is a way you can do it because I read about it about 3 years ago and forgot about it. Sorry. I think you click shift option (mac) in the layers pallet. Try a number of key combos in the pallet. :(

as long as what you wanna do to each layer is the same, save this as an action, then you can automate it as a batch...this has saved me ssooo much time....one click and you are done!

If you've scaled the entire image via the Image Size dialog, there's a checkbox for scale effects.
Or if you need to do it to individual layers only, maybe you could just scale effects on one layer, then option (or alt? on PC) drag the scaled layer effect to the other layers that need scaling on the effects (if they're all supposed to be the same layer effects).
Another way (again, if they're all the same layer effects) would be to scale the effect on one layer, copy the layer style, then select the remaining layers (CS2 lets you shift-click to select more than one layer at a time) and paste the layer style.

thanks urst... I will look into them tomorrow, see which one works best, they are all a lot better than how I was doing it ;)

The OTHER idea I had was you could create a duplicate of your image, but scale it up in the image size box with scale effects checked on, then copy those into the original document. I'm thinking that should work too.
Lotsa ways to skin this cat, methinks. ;) Oops, sorry Morea, no actual cats were skinned in this advice. :D

Yeah I know there are lots of ways to do things in PS... I knew the way I was doing it was not the easiest... unfortunatly I am done with what I needed this info for but I'm sure there will be another time when I'll need it.
Thanks again Urst!

don't know if this helps, but you can select the layers you want to scale by CTRL-clicking on them in the layers palette, then go to the bottom of the window and link them... that lets you scale all linked layers as one.
Not sure about layer effects, I haven't tried that.

Scaling with the transform tools doesn't scale the effects, sadly. Only the pixels on the layer, minus the effects. Which they'd figure that out, it seems like such an obvious thing to want to do all in one shot.
