I love my job, even in spite of working on a PC which I'm starting to get used too after three weeks. However, all our screens (even my Creative Director) are tiny 17" (I swear they seem a lot smaller).

Would I be stepping on toes if I brought my own monitor and used that on their machines (even if my boss still uses a 17"). I have a 23" that I'd be willing to have at my workstation instead..I can even due dual displays as the machine I'm on as it has two ports on the video card.

So what would you do? My 23" at home isn't being used as I'm at work all day.

p.s. If it matters, I've only been there 4 weeks.

Does your company have an IT person or department?
That's where you have to ask.
I wouldn't do it without at least doing that.

I wouldn't go any smaller than a 19". I don't like monitors that are too big though, makes me feel like a small child watching Tom & Jerry 3 inches infront of the family TV

I dont know Strange... I dont think my monitor could be too big!?

But PD has a very good point, I wouldn't start bringing in equipment without getting it authorized first.

It's not the size that matters it's how you use it.
Plus you could easily turn a 17inch into a 23inch by sliding your chair a foot closer.
