...into Quark Xpress 6.52 is giving me a headache. A client has supplied me their logo in Illustrator .eps format and when I try importing it into Quark Xpress all I get is a greyed out box with "PostScript picture" in the centre. I've never had problems importing these files before with any other version of Quark. I've turned it into a PDF which does import perfectly, but i'm slighty worried about the colours of the logo which i need to check for CMYK prior to press. I've also tried aking the PDFs into Freehand (which has worked in the past which can be edited.) But not this time.
Can anybody lend any advice please.
Thanks.

it is ok all is not lost

there is usually nothing wrong with the files

they usually print out ok

that is just a kind of preview but it will be ok try printing it out

also try just importing the eps into freehand that should be ok as freehand will recongnise eps

do you know what eps - is it generic eps or (dcs1 or 2)

the guy who saved the original files when he was saving or exporting etc had to tick preview in the box (this is why you see no preview m8)

Export your project to PDF, and see what you get. :)

Was the eps e-mailed to you, outside of a Stuffit or Zip archive? I've seen this happen. The file comes through e-mail as a generic EPS, and no preview information is associated with it, thus, your Postscript picture message.

Do you not have Illustrator? You could just open it up in that, and resave it with a preview, or, you could ask them to send you the file again with a properly saved preview and inside of a Stuffit or Zip archive.
