I should be quakin' in my boots, this is the first interview for a design related position I've had in two freakin' years, but honestly, I'm primed and ready to go. I have a feeling I'm going to knock it out of the park.

No way! That's the excuse everyone uses. You gotta come up with something better. Have someone call you just before you leave and start saying "Oh my God!" louder and louder like 5 or 6 times then slam down the receiver and run out the door. Next day tell them how a pack of tigers and grizzlies escaped from the zoo and were chasing a group of 11 nuns who escaped certain death by climbing onto your roof and sliding down your chimney to safety (tigers and bears can climb, but they can't fit through the chimney). All 11 nuns then tried to fit into your tub to wash off the soot, but the floor wasn't strong enough and they fell through, tub and all into a secret chamber you didn't know existed where they found none other than Osama Bin Laden himself, crushed underneath the tub. Of course the water pipes broke in the fall, so they found your work number next to your phone and called you back to clean up the mess. Whew! What a day!

Good luck! Why do I get nervous when I hear about other peoples interviews? :DBecause it makes you think back to all of the mistakes you ever made in interviews yourself? That's what it makes me think of.
That's why I prefer sneaking into places as a freelancer. They see what I can do, and I see if the place sucks. If one or the other of us isn't happy, no harm, no foul. The whole traditional corporate mindset for interviews just doesn't work for designers, in my opinion.
EDIT: Oh yeah, GO REUBER! And just remember, if something in your gut says that the place is a stinkhole, go with your gut and don't take the job! Remember, you're interviewing them, too.

Good Luck Reuber! Your attitude toward your interview is the best one to have. It will show through in the interview. An interviewer will remember the person who wasn't timid, shy etc... The show of confidence goes a long way. Like BK said though, if something just doesn't feel right, don't take it. :)

I hear you on the 'not feeling right', but I've job shadowed at this place two years ago for school and I nearly wet my pants at how awesome it seems. It certainly isn't a C-mont type establishment, where that looks like an MTV Real World house, but it still looks really nice and the people seem very cool.

As soon as I was done, I got into my car, and noticed that it was already 6:40. I went "O.o" And we only spent five or ten minutes of my portfolio (it is small, after all, like MD's weiner....allegedly), so it's not like I dragged it out.

OK, it's been a week and a half and I haven't heard anything since. No rejection letter or nothing. I would call them, but honestly I wouldn't know how to handle such a call. I sent a TY after my first interview, but I had my second one so quick that they probably didn't get it until the day after my 2nd interview. I mean, I'm sure they had more candidates to interview after me, but it's been 8 business days since the second interview.

Well, this new route is definitely better, but I would still rather get this other job. I would definitely be learning a lot more, and that's really what I want. Besides, it seems like a really cool and upscale place, as opposed to bland drywall inside a warehouse. A place I would take pride in working in, in other words.
