Welcome to the photo project for November! Here are the guidelines:

Please do not upload attachments, as they don't carry over properly into the voting thread.

• You can host photos for free at www.thecreativeforum.com, which will also allow you to put your images into the GDF Photo Gallery(when you upload a photo, just select a GDF destination from the dropdown menu).

• NO PHOTOSHOP or other photo editing software may be used except for processing (cropping, tonal / color adjustments, and resizing) No elements, objects, or images can be cloned, cut out, or taken out of the original image other than what occurs from cropping.

• One entry per member. You may post more than one photo in this thread, but be sure to specify which one you want included in the voting as your entry.

• Ideal image size is 600 pixels wide.

• Cut off date for submitting photos will be November 26th.

The theme is: "GRAY". Happy shooting!

I call it "roadkill preview". Don't know as I've ever seen one in the wild in the upright, breathing position...
Um, shot w/old hp 215 camera, cropped, resized.

Actually, that was just a "hey-that's gray, too!" as I was pulling into the driveway;) . This is the one I was going after. Wish I had a zoom. Guess I'll have to borrow the wife's camera next time. Or start carrying my old fuji slr.

I just found the varied shades of gray in the sky and the different shades in the old wood and the metal roof intriguing. Anyway, here 'tis:

Out of curiosity, can you enter photos you've taken 2 years ago or should they be taken specifically for this contest? I have some b/w's that I took for a class that I'd consider entering...

lol, that one was across the street from my house. Some creative cropping allowed me to eliminate the power lines that run right in front of it.

(stupid power lines)

lmao Mo.. I'll be damned if I didn't have to do the same thing :D

Kind of a grey/gray day for a balloon festival. Might as well get a shot of the plane.

Morea, I really like your ocean pic over the one of the tree for the contest.

There have been a lot of visually appealing photos submitted so far, but I think that one brings more into the equation. Just looking at the picture, I can feel the coldness of the water, the turbulence of the ocean, and I swear I can hear the waves crashing. Very nice! :)

Hatcher's pass. About an hour outside of Anchorage Alaska. When I was there earlier this year. (February)

10 minute walk from my house. That's me missus in the shot.

She's more like a twenty-one year walk (so far).

Okay, Red. Here you go. Now I don't know which one I want to use. I'll stick with the first one. So, this one is just for your viewing pleasure. :) This pic was taken the same day I took my "official entry". It is in the same park. (1 mile from my house.)

No problem. One day I'll stop being lazy and post a thread with some of the pics I took that day. Veterans Day I went out and took some pictures around Chickamauga Park.

I forgot a marathon was being held so I had to push people running out of the way with my car. I felt akward because they were jogging and I was eating a Hardee's Frisco Breakfast Sandwich while driving and trying to find a good parking spot.

I was plagued with the threat of rain all day. I was also so cold my nipples got back to my car 10 minutes before I did. I had my camera and borrowed my Dad's Canon AE-1 Program Manual Camera. Those pics turned out great as well. I recieved odd looks as I walked around the park with all that equipment.
