Are most of you employed at a business where you have to go in and sit at a desk all day?

I work out of my home studio for two of my three jobs, where I am kept company by my ornary parrot. The one company I do work-for-hire for is over 3,300 miles away and I pretty much answer to no-one except when they need something done.

i work from home as well under my company name, 3howards media. i get a lot of work from my previous employer, a print shop. they decided not to replace me and subcontract work to me that they can't do. it works out best this way because i have a little girl that i prefer to not take to daycare. it just costs too much and would always deal with the trust issue.

I work out of a cardboard box...AKA...my home. *sniff sniff*

When I'm good they let me play with that little thing that has a screen and has those numbers and letters that you punch to make pretty things.

They don't let me do it much tho bc its not very safe in the rain in a cardboard box with one of those....umm...machine things and its been raining alot here lately.

*sigh*

Better keep that macheine thingy warm cuz i hear they catch viruses easy.

Oh yes...well this is true and I have spoke to the superiors about this on several ocassions.
They will not pay enough for me to have anything more than this carboard box. NO EXTRAS. Nothing to cover this.....machine thingy...that they allow me to use MAYBE 2 times a week (depending on the weather), so that it does not get sick with a virus...

That's what I get for doing grunt design jobs I guess.....*sigh*

I am now taking donations to upgrade my cardboard home to a metal workshop for me to work out of. A HUGE step for me. If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause...please email me atmetalshedfund@imfullash!t.com and I thank you VERY much!

Work from restraints except on Sundays when they loosen the restraints. I like the mealy worms in my pay envelope. Mostly they wiggle.

My major client is in India because Americans are now working cheaper than third worlders. Which is nice. My major gig for them is working out the missing bits of the Kama Sutra which missionaries over the years have defaced. Now, driven by shame, several world organizations have provided funds for this important restoration work. Because of my efforts most of the world now believes Indian dudes are super... (let me check which thread I'm in, just be a moment)

Sorry, I see I'm in the general thread. This would need to continue over in CNSFW

When I do Web work, which isn't very often, I do it from home. My day (well, it's actually at night) job is not at home.

If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

I work from an office (for someone else). I have a baby on the way and will be taking parental leave - so I am hoping to set up at home. Hopefully by bosses will continue to use me on a contractor - type basis. Ultimately I want to work from home producing music for film and TV and doing some graphic design/ webpage work.

I work from home. That is a misnomer, because I actually find myself travelling about quite a bit to meet my clients or running to the print shop. I use more gas than kilowatts.

Likewise, welcome 39degN

You write English very well with no accent at all.

Here's all the Chinese I know - I believe it is Cantonese, though it could be Mandarin - Let's see if I remember it correctly... here goes -

'Okay!'

How was that? I'm not from around here...

But instead of, 'Okay.', I always say, 'Hell no!'
