hey all,
new here and looking forward to picking people's brains! hopefully, i will have SOMETHING to contribute!

actually, i already have a very newb question! i have an image for my avatar pic and when i scale it down to 80 x80 pixels, it's horribly bitmapped! so, how can one as simple as myself fix this or make it better?

thanks in advance!

hi vikia,
nice to meet you!

morea,
created a 80 x80 pixel document, applied my image, saved as an rgb jpeg. photoshop says it's 18.8kb, but get info says it's 72kb. tried to save it to file size (19.5kb) with the save for web option and that comes out as 8kb. any tips?

feeling like a dumb dumb ...

Hey Dead Lift,

Welcome to the GDF. I'm a Noob too. I baked the kids some virtual brownies. The feedback is that they loved them. Reach in the back of the fridge and grab a few. There's also some ice cream in the v-freezer. Enjoy

If I can help you with anything, please let me know. I'm sure I'll be needing help as the world turns... (it is still turning right? I'll check CNN).

Again, welcome.

BTW, referencing your name, are you a bodybuilder? If so, so am I...

Max :D

Welcome to GDF Deadlift.

Make sure your image size in Photoshop is 80x80 pixels and 72 dpi. Then do a save for web. That should work.

thanks again to all for the warm welcome!

balou: i did that earlier and was horribly disappointed that the image came out at 8kb. i thought it was going to come out crummy, but i think it's ok! thanks!

max: bodybuilder and brownies? FAUX PAS! :D
no, i am not a bodybuilder. i powerlift, but do not compete (yet). i started out wanting to "get big", as everyone else did though.

so, does my avatar finally work and look ok? if so, can you name the person?
