i want to create a 3d cover like this www.ecoverdesign.com (http://www.ecoverdesign.com) but while doing so i came up like this www.freewebs.com/wownepali/covers.jpg (http://www.freewebs.com/wownepali/covers.jpg)
As you can see the result is not so good. I designed covers in photoshop then exported as jpeg file. Then i opened 3d studio max , created a box and applied my jpeg to that box. But the result is not satisfactory, because the image has been dimmed and blurred, even if i adjust the brightness and lighting i don't think i will get the exact result .
So what i think is may be there are other softwares(like photoimpact, paintshop pro ....) which can easily create such 3d covers. If there are no such softwares and i have to create that in 3d softwares only then plz tell me about the settings like what kind of settings i need to do in 3dstudio max.

you can do it all in Photoshop using the transform tools. I would recommend, scale, scew, perspective and free distort. I have to build mock up stuff like this all the time and thats the best way I have found

Can't you just import this image into Photoshop now and tweak the colour/contrast?

Amen to that. That is what I always do.

Do not forget to make good use of the burn and dodge tools to get proper lighting and shadows at the end.

And if you have paintshop pro (as mentioned) click on the warp/envelope tools and use your alt and ctl keys to skew into place.

You can also "cheat" by saving an exising image sample and placing that as your sub layer to get proportions correct. At least until you get the hang of perspectives.

If you still want to do it in 3ds max, try exporting the jpg's as 'CMYK' not 'RGB'
