Hi Everyone

I'm interested to know if anyone has any tips for any really great design related books that are worth looking at. I'm trying to build up a collection which I can refer to for inspiration and so on as part of my freelance graphic design work. What kind of design books does everyone else like to read?

Thanks,
Jack

For identity/logos: Los Logos, Dos Logos.
I think they're just great.

Thanks prewe. I have Los Logos and agree that it's the best logo book out there, but I didn't know there was a second one. I'm on to Amazon straight after I post this.

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, I'm going to be broke from buying too many books!

Here's links to a couple of my lists:

Logo design by the book (and the Internet) (http://blog-omotives.blogspot.com/2006/07/logo-design-by-book-and-internet.html)

Design by the books (http://www.creativelatitude.com/articles/articles_fisher_rlist.html) (in serious need of some updating)

hey Jeff have you checked out Caffiene for the Creative mind yet? I saw that and a couple others in the December 'How' and wanted to get some thoughts on them.

Thanks Jeff - the list is really helpful. Like trounce I'm always interested to see what graphic design books people are reading. I know a few of the books on your list but there are some that I'll definitely look out for.

I haven't read Caffiene for the Creative Mind yet either Drorain, but I'm told by a friend of mine who's also a designer that it's well worth a look.

I'm actually one of the 12 "creative types" interviewed in Caffeine for the Creative Mind (http://blog-omotives.blogspot.com/2006/10/jeff-fisher-logomotives-represented.html). The authors, Stefan Mumaw and Wendy Lee Oldfield, just sent me a copy last week and it's a fun and valuable book of creative exercises.

I loved this book as a kid. I even borrowed the VHS tape from the library, and sat in front of the TV drawing all kinds of crazy characters while watching the video. It's probably the place I first learned perspective.
