I'd like to consider myself a pretty decent graphic designer about 7+ years Photoshop Exp. by no means am I completely proficient like some of you might be (Although I am going to college right now for Graphic Technology). I feel as though I have enough skills to perform freelance work in the vein of CD Covers for bands, posters, flyers, postcards etc, Ive tryed using myspace.com to attract some interest, but that place stinks.

Any suggestions? If anyone would like to check out some of my stuff - http://www.myspace.com/creativeimagegraphics

I know! I need a domain- im workin on it! :)

7+ years of ONLY Photoshop experience won't get you very far in the Freelance world.

Your work is great! Love the album covers.
I agree with PD that you have limited yourself in the one software and suggest expanding asap.

But as far as work goes, it's out there. You just have to find your niche and market and cator to that area. But its slim pickin's in comparison if you knew say even just indesign, Quark or Illy. Adobe Acrobat too is a valuable asset (full utilizing the full version).

But there is also no reason you can't do all of what you listed with just photoshop if you are that skilled and comfortable in it. Just don't limit yourself.

Well I do appreciate the positive feedback...and would like to get more involved with other programs, I suppose that's where my education will come in because Quark and InDesign are required for my degree- I just know that I can create quality stuff for people as far as layout and creativity- I guess my niche would be the music business, but just the same I could make a good logo for "mom & pop's bagel shop" just the same....I dunno..thanks for the help!!

Try advertising where your market is.

Is there a local magazine for musicians? That's your market. Now go get it.

haha, I like your attitude! I agree- I need to attack my market I just dont want to limit myself if someone associated with something other than music wants some work- but I guess its all about balance......
