I jusy got in my new G5 at work and i'm in love. I also got a 23 inch display and hooked up my old 19 inch flatcreen monitor so I have a lot of screen space! I love it!

btw some VIP in our office got a G5 when it first came out. He insisted it have the full 8 gigs of RAM... His system has probably never used more then 30% of its processing power and 600mb of RAM. The really sad part is if I made a G5 case out of some aluminum sheet metal and put a G3 in there, he'd never know the difference.

oh, very recently we ordered 2 G5's with 4gb RAM and dual 30' LCD's (4x 30')... would it be wrong to get an erection over a computer? /emoticons/laugh.gif

The remote admin is great on those too. It has a ton of internal sensors that monitors any problems and lets you know remotely if there is a problem.

why did you get that though if I may ask? Web server or something or your company?

It's not actually mine..I wish...but it might as well be since I will be the only one knowing how to do anything with it...LOL! We needed a new server where I work...ours was way old and WAY to small, we are upgrading many things right now and also starting up a 3rd part of the business - web design and web hosting so I decided this was the way for us to go after much research and talking to many people. We needed speed and lotsa space. She's a beauty!

I have set up 4 of them. I am no expert but i can tell you some do's and don't. Like I would not set up a software RAID 0. Sounds nice but it doesnt run well on the mac's without a hardware RAID card ($500 for xserve).

You will also need to learn about user groups and permissions, even some slight bash script and unix commands line knowledge would help :(
