Picture boxes in Quark greying out!

Don't know what's going on here. Just upgraded to Quark 6.52 and now I'm getting this this problem with my picture boxes. When I import an image into quark (no matter how small or large the picture is) the box greys out. If I click on the box then the picture is show, click off the image box and it disapears again!
Am I missing an xtention or an option in the preference menu?
Any help would be much appreciated.

You're a diamond jim, truely a king amongst men! That did the trick, greek pictures was clicked on.
Why would that preference change just through an upgrade?! Hmmm.
