That is so sweet. I don't use Image Ready but the Photoshop work looks pretty clean — and your drop shadow isn't overdone. heehee. What is it with moms and angels anyway? My mom goes nuts over them too. 8)

it looks very nice, i got some ideas for you tho'
the angels image just below the text seems a little square:
-you could take the eraser brush tool and be creative with the edges
or
-you could play around with the opacity of the images
or
-you could add i nice border around the square image of the angels
they are just some suggestions, photoshop is fun, just keep playing around and you can get some good results, I am fairly new to photoshop too.
I think your mom will be proud of ya ;)

Yeah i agree about the square box... If you use a soft edged eraser to take the harsh edges off the square, and play about with the layer blending options, you should be able to make the images fit together in a nicer way... Copy the layer first, so if you aren't happy with the results you can always keep it as it is now! ;)

here are the basics about masks. www.sitepoint.com/article/photoshop-fade-layer-mask (http://www.sitepoint.com/article/photoshop-fade-layer-mask)
this is, imo, one of the best things to learn when you're new to photoshop.
as for the heart... might look too cheesy, might not. it is for your mom and i know mine likes cheesy, but not all do. make sure you let us see how this came out.

lol....
ive been workin on it but im getting frustrated, becauseit wont turn out right, oh well i just keep tryin.
im a noob but trying hard to becomegood
thats it is all about, playing around until you get a result you are happy whith. Just play around whith different tools, tecniques and methods. It can be annoying, but think of it like a puzzle the more familiar you get whith the pieces the easier it will be. If you get frustrated, take a break maybye go out with some friends and take your mind off of design, then go back to it whith a clear head and see what you can do.
A lot of people that use this forum will b very helpfull, if you have any questions just ask. Theres no such thing as a dumb question, we are all learning and helping each other.

im a noob but trying hard to becomegood
wow, thats really a lot better, i see you're playing around whith blending options, thats fun :)
maybye you should focus on the text now, once idea is that you could make the text follow a curve.
around where the angel image is.

im stuck..... anyone wanna give ideas on the text??
please?
im a noob but trying hard to becomegood
ok, here we go. i would play around whith the opacity of the text layer. and make it follow a curve (if you know how). You could also try some different fonts, but everything looks nice right now. The best advice i ever got was 'never be satisfied' anyones work can allways be improved, no matter how good you are. I think you should just keep messing whith your design until your mum's birthday and then whatever you have then , use that. ;)
PS: we will help you aout a lot, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. There is no such thing as a bad question.
