How dooo people!!
Just a quik query, hopefully one o ya will b able to help. I've got a website at work that needs designing for a woman who will be selling Resources for Teachers, such as History books and timeline posters, text books, Geography, English etc.... on this ecommerce website. Thing is iv got the design all sussed, a kind of funky but not too kiddy design (what she asked for) etc.
The main problem i have is that on the homepage she wants an illustration of a store cupboard door, in a style that you would assume with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network-type stuff. This cupboard will look like its bulgin with stuff and the door is struggling to hold back all the stuff behind it. As you can tell its a bit advanced and detailed, but must look like something out of Dextors Laboratory, or spongebob etc, American-modern style illustration.
There's now way i could do this, im ok at illustrations but wen it comes to somethin like this it's a bit advanced and requires a bit of a genius!!!
How much would it cost for a Illustrator to do this? Plus how long would it take overall?? I had a conversation with an Illustrator here in the UK and he virtually pulled my pants down and lubed me up over the price!! It's not that im concerned how much it costs cos its not for my website, but this women is realllly cranky motha!!
