I have been given a layout where they would like the look of the actual ten dollar bill only thing they want to change is the photo of Hamilton to a different photo. I know there are certain things you can and can not do with currency but I can not find a good site out there to give all the details to back myself up. I am a little leary about making the changes.

Here in the UK you have to contact the Royal Bank and get written permission, but they won't let you change any of the characters (I tried once) and they are very strict about it. It may different in America, I guess you need to contact whoever produces the goods over there.

I did some Euro mark designs for a high end jewelry company once. They wanted postcards with the mark on one side, and there jewelry on the other. It was contracted to me through another company, but I remember I had to remove all the serial numbers for the reproduction process and it was a serious pain in the arse. I spent around 10 hours of photoshop healing for each piece. I ended up doing a $5, $10 and $20.

there should be info on a treasury department website.
I thought it had to be 50% or 200% if in color and if black and white ok any size but could be wrong, don't quote me. why not just "create" a money looking design?
