Working on a Quark project just now, and I know the images should be CMYK when going to the printers, but, the problem is a lot of them were orginally RGB. When I convert them they seem ok in PS - then in Quark the colours look feckin stupid and ruin a lot of my design.
Will it be a majour problem if some of the images are bundled as RGB?
The project has to look it's best as well.
Cheers.

The printer needs them in CMYK.

Yeah I figured.
Has anyone else found their colours radically changing when imporing to quark?

If you're worried about the quality of the print, get printer's proofs.

Not really a quality issue, more of 'change' issue.
I appreciate the feedback, cheers.

ive never seen quark preview CMYK images clearly, one thing that always bothered me about the program. Try viewing it in "High Resolution" mode if you can, that should clear up some of your color issues.

You CAN send the files rgb but I'll change 'em to CMYK and guess what? They'll still look feckin stupid. :D
At least if you change them, you can make the necessary color correction.

Quark's preview isn't that good. Make sure you get color proofs from the printer. Do not bypass this!

If you save as pdf, do they look better? I've never like Quarks view either.

And my usual foray into such threads...
Are you POSITIVE the printer wants CMYK images? Either check his spec sheet or call.
There are several print processes now where the printer wants RGB.
