Flash file size problems

hello everybody,

I am a problem that is very confusing

why the commerical banner of SWF on the web is small file sizes which is from 20K to 50K, but the quality is very well, how can do that? I just make a flash using a few pictures, the file sizes already reach 100k

where is a trick on that?

the banners you're looking at might import the pictures from an XML and therefore their filesize is reduced. i'm not certain, but that might be it.

Still has to download the photos, and still takes time to load. Maybe you just need to reevaluate the use of images in the flash. Optimize the shit out of them, only use them when neccesary. Large block of a single color? Dont use an image. Simple gradient background? Dont use an image.

yeah, but it was the swf-size i was talking about reducing. but you've got a point ecsyle :)
