Hey, I'm new...I think...

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd come out of the dark and say "Hi!"

I am an official lurker. I've been comming to the forum off and on for... well...about a year now I guess. (wow longer then I thought!)

Anyways, I just wanted to do a formal intro. I am an 18 year old kid from the Southeastern part of Alaska. And.... I like to think of myself as having a future involving design.

If you want to glance some of it over, and give me critiques, I wouldn't mind at all. This would be about my first time getting any sort of professional review, but don't worry about 'being nice'... I'm sure some of you won't anyways. ;)

Vonstar Innovations? I think it is missing an "N" on the logo part I saw, unless they have a special spelling. Typos suck and some clients will judge you on that. Hope it is not a typo.

For only being 18, You seem to have a good grasp of things. I liked the candle light logo. I think there is a bit of flatness to some of your work. However, I think with time, experience and maybe some training Alsaka will have a gem of a designer. Keep up the good work. I wasn't near that level when I was 18. I am jealous of the good start you have already. . .

Hi, Thanks for the welcomes!

Yeah, northern lights, they are so beautiful. But I've only seen them about three times or so. Being in southeast, they aren't nearly as frequent as they are in the northern pasts of the state. Southeast Alaska though, gets so much rain. It’s always cloudy here, hard to see the stars even most times, let alone northern lights. Sometimes we get lucky though. They are definitely something to see!


Hey Crimson…thanks for taking the time to look at my stuff. Typos are a bad thing with me. I tend to look at a page of text with some misspellings, I’ll think “something’s wrong here” but I won’t be able to tell exactly, ‘what.’ I think I usually focus too much on the context, so small, but important details escape me.

Anyways, I fixed that bad error, I guess the wrong file got uploaded.


I was also thinking about maybe making the logos smaller. They aren’t a real good size in that gallery. Maybe that is why they look flat? They’re supposed to be scaled really small. (though some of my first ones do look a bit plain)

Perusing your work....on the design contest piece, it reads "tha was used a as a filler" It should read "that was used as a filler." Other than that, it looks great!
