What a difference a day makes! I just have to share with ya'll because of all the encouragement and good wishes I've been getting around here...
Today was critique day of our final project which was our choice of what to do. One person who does the awesome photoshop work had a very nice ad design (except for the font which I brought up, I couldn't help myself and yes, the teacher admitted this was an area to be worked on) and several others brought in their artwork which was very nice pieces, nothing to really get excited over and all had something they needed to tweek which is fine.
When I put my project up, there was dead silence. Then the teacher told me that the piece was gallery worthy and that I passed the class.
Evidently, they had never seen paper sculpture before. I constructed an insect landing on a piece of paper only it's 3' x 2', totally white on white, very dramatic. It may not be graphic design exactly but it sure felt good to stop the computer gurus in their tracks and show them what I'm capable of in my own element.
