hey guys,

I have a question regarding the no free request rule. Hope someone can clear this up for me... does this only apply to design jobs or a general rule? The reason i ask is that i have never had anything professionlly printed and don't want to have a large quantity printed, only to realise that the color and/or font were not appropriate.

Please don't ban me for asking this.

thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking for here.

Are you asking for free design work to be done because you're not sure what you want and you don't want to waste your own money on a design in case it doesn't work out for you?

Or are you asking for free printing to be done?

If you are worried that the colour and font are not appropriate, you should pay someone to work on it until it is appropriate. Then you should get a printed sample from you printer. Once you have checked, this. You pay the printer to print everything for you.

sorry, was early in the morning when i started this thread.

I have designed the flyer, and is ready for printing. This is my first professional work, and was hoping someone could critique it and give me feedback and let me know if there is anything i should change (such as colours and fonts). I have heard from people that similar colours tend to blend together when printed.

I guess what i'm asking is would it be breaking the rules if someone was to critique anothers work without doing any design work?

Critiques we can do. Questions and advice are what this forum is about. The no free requests is for people that think that graphic design is something they shouldn't pay for because they view it as a hobby.

Post your stuff for critique here:

Because of your concerns, it is a good idea to post everything you know about this job with your artwork - how many colours it's going to print, offset or digital, paper stock, size. Anything you can think of to help us help you.
