This item has been posted in the general forum but perhaps this is a better venue, I can only hope!

I am a graphic designer of thirty years but am currently studying Interaction Design and Information Architecture at the University of Baltimore.

As part of my studies in Information Culture, I'm (attempting) surveying graphics professionals working in the United States how they exercise their creative rights under current copyright laws (1998).

The questionnaire consists of merely twelve questions and will only be available for responses until 6 December 2006. I request no identifiable information and the survey company (www.surveymonkey.com (http://www.surveymonkey.com/)) does not track respondents.

I would greatly appreciate additional participation. I've had only 32 responses to date, hardly representative. Much has been said on this subject by academics and media moguls but it seems no one is asking those of us who actually do the creating. Well someone is asking now.

You can access the survey through my Information Culture webpage on the University of Baltimore webserver by selecting “Research Survey Questionnaire”.

Thanks to those of you who can participate and those who showed interest but reside out of the country!

The questionnaire is still open until 11pm EST tonight!

A big thanks to those of you who took time for the survey. This is the only site that actually posted it. Neither the American Institute of Graphic Art nor the Graphic Artists Guild (I am a member of both organizations) disseminated it.

Although response is not what I had hoped (only 38) the results will appear in my report to be posted at the address in the original message under the Research Report link.

Thanks!

Have heard from AIGA! Hopefully will have some input by the deadline!
