Im designing a sticker in silver and metallic red (on coated white stock) My swatch book only goes so far as a few metallics. I have 877C for silver but can anyone suggest a PMS number for a metallic red that most closely matches C5/M100/Y80/K5 (a kinda deep pinky red). 8883C looks close on screen... how about in print? Any help would be great.

YDR.

8883 is the only really red metallic.
8863 has more magenta to it. It would really help to know what that CMYK build is in a pms number to determine which is closer.

metallic pantones are mixed with metallic inks as a base along with percentages of other colours.
we have a metallic swatch book - it's been very useful - - but we genrally have to give the printer the mix as well as they generally don't have the resources.

also some of the metallic colours have a more metallic look than others once prtned - it is a little hit and miss. An alternative is to use red foild and emboss the area required (if that's an option in the design)

I have done quite a few jobs in the past that have process colours overprinting the spot silver which gives you any "metallic" colour you need. The only thing is it is usually a bit more costly as the silver goes down first and is let dry before overprinting the process colours.
