Hey everyone... long time no chat.
Today I am stuck at home from work 'cause my car decided to die on the highway (this is why we drive computers instead, right? ok, bad joke!)
Anyway, here is my latest self-portrait. I wanted to colour it but my conscience won't let me.
What do you think?
Cheers, -Blu

Are you all brains, eyes and legs?

Are you all brains, eyes and legs?
That would pretty much sum up how I felt at the end of last week. Do you ever get so engrossed in your work that you forget certain body parts exist? Some people would sketch it the same but with a big fat pair of lips. Maybe I should sketch a version without legs and the eyeballs rolling off of a chair, brain tissue still attached in a spider web pattern. Thinking too much ;)

Often I get so engrossed in somethin I forget where I am - totally tune out of my surroundings...is that the same?

Yeah, lol, the socks are real. I teach new media and wear them to class sometimes. It was one of those 14 hr days.
....wait... Danger Mouse, last time I checked, I was a chic. One would assume that you ask because you have perhaps lost your own?
Being out of tune completely fits. Or having such focus on what you are doing that you start to lose focus (more often inbetween caffeine doses) and **blink**. I dunno, I guess it depends on whether you enjoy the somethin in the first place. Every good designer seems to love puzzels in their work and being engrossed becomes so natural.
When your brain is too fried to go on working; eyes feel like giant meatballs, but your body isn't tired enough to fall over --that seems like a perfect time to sketch.

Nice! I have some shoes like those! very comfy...like the sox too! I can relate to the body parts issue. Sometimes I feel like I'm all hair (big, frizzy hair) and butt! um, i have feet too, and hands....

Ooooo, nice reindeer! Is it Christmas already??
Brie, that would make a really neat picture. Showing frizzy hair, striped socks and maybe a grunge shirt has its appeal. One nice thing about this job is that you can walk into some places wearing whatever and they will just smile and call you "wildly creative". Oh and those shoes go with anything, they rock
Time for more sketching...
